In early spring of 2020 a strange new cloud descended on human society around the world, as the flu-like COVID-19 virus rapidly spread to global pandemic proportions, and governments experimented with getting the public to go along with periods of 'lockdown', 'social distancing' and vaccination programmes...
In the summer, the killing of George Floyd by police in the USA led to an eruption of feeling that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH across a large part of the population, which gathered momentum internationally (and not without controversy) under the 'Black Lives Matter' slogan (#BLM), helping to open public debate and raise some awareness... only time will tell what the longer term impact of all this might be...
Meanwhile around Manchester, the ongoing conflict between property developers, council authorities and local housing needs was everywhere to be seen, as post-Brexit / post-Covid Britain tried to get to grips with a world in which we seemed to be losing control...
